In March 2009, a National Alzheimer’s Strategic Plan was presented to the 111th Congress and the Obama administration. On July 22, 2009, the Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Act of 2009 was presented to the 111th Congress.
In September 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Keep Memory Alive hosted its third annual Leon Thal Symposium, convening the world’s foremost experts in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) to discuss topics of national import, including:
1. Establishing a national and global registry of participants for clinical trials
2. Comparing and collaborating on screening approaches for AD
3. Addressing public misunderstanding of AD
