The Winning Edge in Combat Sports: How to get it and maximize your health

This fast-paced two-hour program covers:

  • Developing and maintaining a winning attitude
  • Maintaining optimal nutrition amidst the challenges of rapid weight loss
  • Understanding performance-enhancing drugs and the latest trends
  • Recognizing concussion and the effects of repetitive head trauma
  • Drawing for restaurant certificates and other great prizes. Winner must be present at the time of the drawing.


Charles Bernick, MD, Associate Medical Director, Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
Dr. Bernick is a neurologist and expert in head trauma in contact sports. He currently oversees a retired athletes clinic as well as the Professional Fighters Brain Health study of 600 active and retired boxers and mixed martial artists.

Don Hooton, Jr., Vice President,Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF)
The THF is a widely acknowledged leader in eradicating performance enhancing drug use in teens and young adults. Both Don Hooton, Jr and Don Hooton, Sr have made countless appearances, including network television and testimony before Congress.

Caroline Silby, PhDDr. Silby is a nationally-recognized sports psychologist who has worked with two Olympic gold medalists, eleven Olympians and thirteen national champions, and has appeared on CNN, Oprah and ABC’s Wide World of Sports.
