Participate in Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are the only pathway to new treatments.

Thanks to support from Keep Memory Alive, Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is uniquely positioned to achieve breakthroughs that can lead to a cure. The center conducts clinical trials to advance new treatments and diagnostic approaches for patients with Alzheimer's, Huntington's and Parkinson's disease, as well as frontotemporal dementia and multiple sclerosis. Since opening in July 2009, the center has conducted 70 clinical trials of promising treatments. But we can’t do it alone.

Become a “citizen scientist.” Our research participants contribute their time to join our army to fight brain disease and search for better treatments. These citizen scientists — together with caregivers, supporters and collaborators (National Institutes of Health, pharmaceutical and biotechnical companies) — are making great strides to Keep Memory Alive for many generations to come.

What if you could do something today to make a difference for yourself and your community? At your next visit, ask your doctor if participating in a clinical trial is right for you:

  • All drugs must be tested in clinical trials to show they are safe and effective before they can be approved by FDA to treat patients.
  • Clinical trials are the only way to test new drugs and advance treatment.
  • The success of finding a new treatment depends on having enough patients and cognitively normal individuals to participate.
  • Learn more about current clinical trials and their findings.

Your involvement is the key to finding cures and preventing the onset of brain diseases. Learn more about current trials at Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
